Step-by-step jump start instructions
Follow a safe sequence for jump starting a vehicle battery.
Connection order
02- Connect red clamp to the positive terminal on the weak battery.
- Connect the other red clamp to the donor positive terminal.
- Connect black clamp to donor negative, then to an unpainted metal ground.
- Start the donor vehicle, wait 2-3 minutes, then start your vehicle.
Safety warnings
03- Remove clamps in reverse order and keep the vehicle running for 20 minutes.
- Never connect black directly to the weak battery negative if you can use a chassis ground.
- Keep sparks, flames, and metal tools away from the battery.
- Stop immediately if you smell acid, see smoke, or notice swelling.
